Trishuli rafting is Nepal’s most popular whitewater adventure, catering to beginners and experienced rafters alike. This trip offers a unique chance to enjoy the pristine natural beauty of Nepal, with stunning valleys, scenic gorges, unpolluted beaches, thrilling rapids, and calmer stretches for all skill levels.
The Trishuli River, sourced from Gosainkunda Lake, is believed to have been created by Lord Shiva, who struck his trident into the rocky mountainside to form three springs. The best time for rafting here spans from February to mid-June and September to January. Monsoon months (July and August) bring higher water volumes and challenging rapids, making it tougher to organize trips.
Trishuli’s rapids range from Class III to IV on the river grading scale, with guided rafting keeping it safe for anyone aged 10 and up, given the mandatory life jackets. Our rafting trips run on a group-joining or private basis. For private trips, a minimum group size of five is required, while group departures are available almost daily in season.
The day-trip itinerary includes a drive to Benighat, Dhading (75 km from Kathmandu), followed by a 30-minute setup, safety briefing, and three-hour rafting session ending at Jabang Khola. A hearty lunch follows, and guests then return to Kathmandu.
