This post-conference field tour offers participants a rich experience, combining on-site learning in disaster resilience with cultural exploration. Beginning with a visit to the Roshi area, recently impacted by severe September 2024 floods, participants will gain firsthand insight into disaster effects, resilience strategies, and engineering interventions in response to flood-induced landslides. The tour then continues to Panauti, one of Nepal’s most ancient towns, renowned for its heritage architecture and sacred river confluence. Finally, a guided visit to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage site, will showcase Nepal’s medieval art and architecture, emphasizing preservation efforts for cultural resilience. This tour provides a comprehensive view of Nepal’s approaches to disaster recovery and cultural heritage conservation.
