The Bright Spark Lecture (BSL) Award was established by former ISSMGE President Professor Charles W. W. Ng (2017–2022) to encourage outstanding young geotechnical engineers to take leading roles at international and regional conferences.
The award provides promising young professionals from both academia and industry with a prestigious platform to deliver keynote or invited lectures at ISSMGE-supported events.
Recipients of the Bright Spark Lecture Award are invited to present a keynote lecture at the 11th Asian Young Geotechnical Engineers Conference (AYGEC) , to be held in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Selected Bright Spark Lecturers gain international exposure and recognition by delivering a plenary keynote lecture at AYGEC 2027, one of Asia’s premier geotechnical forums.
Designed to highlight the next generation of geotechnical leaders.
